Gardener’s Workshop
Workshop troubleshooting
Developer Mode is missing or will not stay on
Check that the Meta Horizon phone app uses the same account that manages the headset and completed developer registration and verification. A separate developer account does not transfer headset ownership. Ask the family to check the account match before resetting anything.
No USB debugging prompt
Wake and unlock the headset. Check Developer Mode, reconnect the cable and try a different USB data cable or port. A charge-only cable is a common cause. Approve the prompt inside the headset when it appears.
The computer says unauthorized, or sees several devices
Approve Allow USB debugging inside the headset. Disconnect other Android devices, then let the family check the connection again.
An update has a signature mismatch
Stop and keep the installed app. The family needs to use the original signing key for an update. Do not uninstall the workshop as a quick fix.
The workshop opens flat, has no controllers or will not start
Stop the playtest and tell the family exactly what the headset shows. Installation success alone does not establish that VR rendering and tracking work. The browser rehearsal is not a Quest VR version.
A prop is out of reach
While playing, point at Recall Loose Props and use the trigger. Completed repairs and held props stay in place. Reset Workshop starts over instead.
The cell does not connect
Use the cream-and-teal power cell, place it in the matching copper cradle and release your grip. Give it half a second to settle. A barrel or a cell still held in your hand cannot complete that repair.
The workshop forgot progress after closing
This prototype has no persistent saves. Repairs last only for its running session.
